Connect your chat

Mintro holds your budget, and ChatGPT, Claude, or Kimi does the routine work in it for you. Connecting the two takes about a minute, and you only do it once. After that you say “file this week” and your agent files the week's transactions, and every change it makes is recorded with its name on it.

What you'll do

Step 1

The easy way: add Mintro as a connector

In claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT, Settings → Connectors → Advanced, turn on Developer mode, then Create. Either way the address is the same: https://mcp.mintro.money/mcp. The chat sends you to Mintro's sign-in page, you choose which budget it may use, and you are taken back to the chat with all of Mintro's tools available to it. No key is copied anywhere. The chat acts as you, with your permissions: a household member's chat can do what that member can do, and nothing more.

Step 2

Any other chat: use a key

Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Kimi, or a script on your laptop: anything that can make a web request works with a key. Create one in Settings → Agents, name it for the person and the chat (maya-chatgpt, jordan-claude), and choose what it may do: read the budget, change it, manage bank connections, or manage webhooks. The key is shown only once. Below it are the connection settings for your agent: pick the format your agent's app uses (a settings file, one command, or the web address), copy it, and put your key where the placeholder is. The chat works out the rest by itself.

Step 3

Give your agent its first jobs

Start with the things you would otherwise do by hand. Ask it to create envelopes after a conversation about how your month usually goes. Give it a file of transactions from your bank and say “file everything you are sure about”, and the transactions it is not sure about stay under To file for you to decide. Ask how your balance looks for the next thirty days. Every answer comes from the same tools the app uses, so the chat cannot make up a number that isn't in your budget.

Step 4

Switch a chat off

If you stop using a chat, or a laptop goes missing, revoke its key in Settings → Agents, or remove the connector in the chat's own settings. Your other chats keep working, and everything the key did stays in your budget, labelled with its name. The security view on Activity lists keys created, keys revoked, and anything a key tried to do that it was not allowed to.
